I've written in bout my dry and severely damaged hair. And at the moment I'm doing all sorts of things to prevent these problems. I blow dry my hair less and also try to find the ARTec's serum.(it's very hard to find this product here)I'm just wondering... if the condition of my hair improves... is it ok for me to straighten my hair? I've heard that hair straightening could actually cause a lot of damage to the hair... is it true? If it is... what can I do to prevent it? Hope anyone who has any experience in straightening her hair could write in! Thanks...

Emilia,I assume that you have curly hair that you want to straighten permanently. I have curly hair and have been advised against straightening my hair over and over again by my stylist. I have a friend who used to get ther hair chemically straightened all the time up untill college. When she decided to grow it out the parts that had been straightened were really dried out and frizzy compared to the new hair growing. If you do have curly hair you should check out the website www.naturallycurly.com (the link is on this website in the LINKS section) Maybe you could learn to love your curly hair! Good Luck with whatever you choose.Regina

I don't really know about the damage you do to your hair when you straighten it, but I imagine it can be minimized by using the proper products. I straighten my hair daily and I've found that Rusk's STR8 keeps it looking less damaged. I just ordered Artec's Smoothing Serum from the WWBeauty Store and I've included the link below. I would highly recommend either one of these products if you want to straighten your hair and keep it looking healthy!Lauren:)Related Link:WWBeauty Store
