For years I have had haircuts which were short enough to style with my fingers. My hair is naturally wavy/curly. The wavy side is courser in texture and hangs heavier. My hair on the whole is fine and thinning. I have been trying to grow out a nightmare haircut for 22 months now and I keep thinking I will never have wearable hair again. My occipital was cut into a layered ball. My front is split in the middle with long layered sides which hang in my face and clump together. I have no crown or back to give me any weight. My hair was basically left with just sides. My whole crown was cut into tons of layers which keep wanting to circle right behind my head. I have a long eggshaped head. I want to get out of this nightmare but don't know what to do. I don't know if I could go 1 inch safely around my head. How can that be done when I am trying to comb the front to the back all the time. Right now I have hair all over my head, however I have absolutely no bulk on my crown or back of my head. I have never looked so freakey and just don't see a way out. Help! No layers come together.

> Kind of an odd description. My first impulse is to certainly leave the crown and occipital length to grow, have the hair reconstructed a bit to help the over curly areas with something like Senscience Reformatex or Sillis by Framesi and have the long front and side areas cut to improve the shape. Make an appt. for a consiltation with a reputable stylist to discuss these things before making any moves. Hope these ideas give inspiration.
