I've stopped going to the salon, because I've never, let me repeat that, NEVER had a positive experience there. It always felt too har and dry, and I didn't like the cut style, wait, or noise.Inever got any advice about home care. What kind of products can I use at home? What kind of Shampoo/Conditioner should I use. I want long hair for my wedding next year. (I have to lose 50 lbs, and grow lots of hair, so I'm giving my self 17 months. also I'll pay for it as I go. No bills or loans). Some suggestions please!!!

I'm sorry you've never had a good salon experience. I do know that you need to be careful if you're losing weight...a lot of times losing a large amount of weight and growing hair longer don't go together. Karen has an article in the archives about that. You need to be sure to get the proper nutrition for optimum health and hair growth. You can go to the site below and receive beauty advice and home tips from Mickhael at the Worldwide Beauty Store. Karen's site here has a lot of advice as well. How long is your hair now?Laura

Hi there! It's a shame that you have had such aweful experiences at the salon. Up until a year ago, I was a salon hopper myself-- but don't give up totally, there are wonderful salons out there, you just have to find them. A good salon will explain to you what hair care products to use in order to keep up your salon look at home. You said that you are trying to grow out your hair, right? Well first, be realistic-- in one year, your hair is only going to grow about six inches (that doesn't include trims). You also will need to factor in trims-- about every three to four months if you're on the grow, and do minimal daily styling damage. Make sure you use a good conditioner to give your hair some protection against the elements! I am on the grow with my hair (loose curls, chem. treated) and I have found that ARTec Textureline has some wonderful products (you can buy on-line at the Worldwide Beauty Store-- real cheap!), and you can choose either Volumizing or Smoothing!Good Luck!Sherry
