Although I am mid-20s, my face looks kind of youngish like 17 or 18 and much like a student! I will be starting work soon and I'm afraid I will not be taken seriously. Are there any hairstyles that would make me look older? I have medium, wavy/straight hair, but I see many older women sporting short hair with wispy ends and they certainly look very matured although these upkeeps need frequent trimming. I am wondering if I should get cuts like these in order to have an older appearance or just stick to my ambition of waist length hair.

Christine, I cut off my long hair to look more professional, and I've been regretting it for the past eleven months! I wish I'd kept my length and pulled it back or put it up in styles that were more "office friendly," as opposed to getting an ultra-short (we're talking as short as Delores from the Cranberries) cut. Is your hair long enough to put into a French twist or something along those lines?--HT

I have been trying a French Twist unsuccessfully :1) I have side layers which keep falling out, looking untidy2) the hair comb (like 6 eagle claws) for French twists doesn't seem to grip my hair properly at the base - although I twist tightly, the bottom is too loose.I think maybe I should stick to half pony tails for a while :)
