Can anyone tell me what a "prism" is in hair color terminology? My hair has been over-highlighted so it looks like an all-over color and is too bright. I wanted to add some darker streaks to break up the strawberry blond and break up the outgrowth. My hairdresser put a darker "prism" on, then rehighlighted. At the salon it seemed like it looked better to me, but five days later my roots still look dark and I don't notice much difference overall. I've been using good color shampoo, but do you think it could have washed out? Any suggestions on how to get darker streaks? Thanks!

It is a much longer lasting color than the Matrix Prisms color, also tell her/him to put you under a hot drier for 20 mins and then air cool for 20 mins before shampooing the shades out during the coloring process, checking frequently to make sure the color is not 'taking' or grabbing too quickly.
