I member yall postin about being watched and followed in hair stores, dats happened to me b4 and specially in the asian owned store chains, but check this: I roll up in Sally's and theres this cashier who caucassian (in know way do I want ta make this a race issue even more than it is) and so was her customer. They were all in there laughin it up and stuff. So I go ahead to take a look at the brushes about ta purchase one. Keep in mind that I was prob. in that store 3-4 mins. So anyway, the laughin stops and I start hearin whispering, so I look up the aisle and BOTH the cashier and the the customer starin at me. And boy was my blood startin to boil at this point. So the customer then leaves and I put the brush up on the counter and before the cashier rung me up I asked her.. "Did you tell that lady ta look down the aisle and watch what I was doin?" and then she tried to cook up a lie which began with "uh..uh..um...well I got" and before she finished I was like forget this crap and walked out. This was definitely the first time this lady did this, the first time she hovered over me for about 5 mins. when I was about ta get some jam. I purposely stayed the extra mins. to see if she would get off my back, which she didn't. No one else in that store gives me problems but her and i'm sick of that mess! Man if I cursed, I would have made sure I cussed her out for every minute she sat her fat a$$ up their starin at me. (After all this i'm startin to feel better  )

ya i said dat in sum post.. da ppl around here in salleys dont watch me... unless they got cameras in da back. Only place im bein watch is up in dis store n a black neigborhood.. but im not da only bein watched.. mo lik ever1. ------------- |

That reminds me of don't be a menace, i hate it when they do that,it happens all the time in the off license i go to and why are all the afro beauty shops owned by people who ain't black. Where i buy my stuff there's about 8 afro shops and they all owned by asain people. ------------- Keep on brushing |

Yeah I feel ya, but it ain't like I go round lookin gangsta, I wonder what draws peeps ta watch me, I say this cause I got jumped by 2 wht cops in Philly when I was 14 (racial profile), they beat me up, and of course we sued, but thats another story ------------- |

Everytime I go up to Sally's it's so busy they wouldn't have time to watch me.. but no problems with that store really. But like Twista said, they do it in the black stores too. Just today I went and got a new brush, I walk in ther and 2 seconds later lady all in my face, "what chu want??". I said a brush, so she showed where they was then said we got this one this one and these (like i couldn't pick one out and grab it myself?) People do that crap! I just take the item I WAS going to buy and tell them they just lost a customer. I tell them how they treated me and be like u see ole girl , usually another person the same race as the cashier, she stealing all kinda crap and u ain't staring at her. Then I be out. back on the subject, mr cabeza i dont know what to say,i do apologize for that white ignorance.i think all blacks experience that inside the department stores in the polo sectionlol.but i usually say, i see i got your attention can you help me find etc. and dont get anything.i put them to work. ------------- We climb together on this site!

I don't know if it happened to anybody else but I hate when I go to a store like a clothes store or whateva and as soon as I step foot they oon ur back askin you need help. I be like naw I'm just lookin they keep askin like 2 or 3 more times and follow you. ------------- |

I get the same treatment when I go to some places - being watched. I told one man that when I got ready to steal something I would tell him so he could watch me steal it. Then he would have proof that he needed and he could call the police! Of course I would never take anything- but that kind of rudeness made me mad! It is called IGNORANCE!!!!!!! It doesnot matter what color your skin is- you are still being watched. And when I go somewhere new and I get watched like that I mark that spot off my favorite stores. Just my 2 cents worth!
