I have highlighted my hair (cap method) with a product called Blondi Meches by Eugene Laboratories. The last time I did it was in September. Think tiny points of light, not big chunks. I liked the product, but now I can't find it. The stores that sell it in my area are either out of stock or not carrying it any more (Eckerd Drug stores). I am leery of trying another product. I'd like it to be as gentle as possible ( I know it's still bleaching!!) Like I said, I do tiny strands of hair, so I won't have a grow out problem, and to get a fairly subtle result. Can anyone recommend a product I can do at home? My hair is dark blonde/light brown and chin length.Laura

I really don't know of any products that are "gentle" however you might want to check out your local health food store and see if they can recommend a product that would lighten your hair with as natural of ingredients as possible. There used to be a product known as Herbatint that was very gentle. I am not sure if it could lighten though. The key with highlighting is that you have to use bleach in the mix. The bleach is what "lifts" the color.I have been having Matrix SoColor applied to my hair...cap method....3-4x a year...with great results...for about 10 years. While I would not describe it as gentle per se, it does seem to lighten without any excessive dryness or damage.I have only seen Matrix SoColor sold at stores for cosmetologists. However, you might be able to get it from your stylist for use at home. It wouldn't hurt to ask.If I think of anything else...I will let you know.Best wishes,Karen> I have highlighted my hair (cap method) with a product> called Blondi Meches by Eugene Laboratories.
