ok this is how it goes. i been trying to get waves for a minute now and i got real nappy afro hair. i started like 6 weeks ago i used everything from 360 to s-curl pomade to murrays to pink oil to gel(maybe my problem is a keep changing methods and products).my method is 1. wash hair not always with shampoo 2.blot it dry and brush in pink oil with soft brush for 20 mins then add pomade and brush with hard brush for 40 minute then durag. i was getting waves with murrays but only when there was alot of pomade in my hair and when it was pressed down, then it started curling up and like the board stated i went and got it cut with a number 2 level i can see a few waves underneath the curls but there still curls ontop of my hair would getting a number 1 b 2 low for the waves and fuc them up?
p.s how do yall get your hair to lay don like that coz as soon as i a take a brush to my hair after a take off the durag the **** jus curl up. and what brush do yall recommend that doesnt have bristles falling out and ****?

Do you brush your hair when it's damp?Cuz the key is to brush when your hair is damp so it can soften your hair.If you brush when your hair is dry you are basically brushing for nothing.

| you don't have to keep your hair that wet all the time but as soon as you brush while your hair is damp and used pomade and slaped on teh rag then after about an hour then ou start brushing as much as you can but it's gd to wash your hair at least twice a day to get your hair softer. With tough hair you'll have to use a very hard brush and brush as often as you could so your hair won't curl back up,you'll see the difference when yu get a hair cut. My waves are coming in but there long and hard to manage so if i put in loads of pomade i'll just get bare spots so they look rough but i stiil brush so they'll come out gd when i get a cut.
how long is your hair

| after my hair is wet from washing it i briush it so it ain't too wet but damp then i put moisturizer and brush then pomade it and brush for long then leave for about 20 seconds and if your hair curls back up then you probly need more pomade then use durag,i take du rag off after an hour and if i'm going out i don't touch my hair but if i ain't then i take my brush and start brushing.

Na man every time you put the pomade in you use the hot towel to melt the pomade.

yea cuz you use a gel pomade if you use a pomade like dax-murrays -or s-curl(orand=ge and Blue)you have to melt dem down cuz they are so thick.
