Please Help,I have incredibly thick, coarse hair. It also has a natural wave which prevents my hair from hanging straight. I am looking for a length/style which will suit this type of hair. If it isn't cut correctly, it looks bushy/frizzy. If it is all one length (especially around the face) it just hangs in a "heavy" mass. Can anyone give me a suggestion as to what to do with this head of hair? Thanks!

Yup, I have the same problem too, but have learnt to live with it. My tips are specifically:-1) Never try layering this kind. You will end up with bushes which kink outwards, either short/long layering applies. the best is to leave it all same-length. Sure, your stylist will say layering removes weight from the hair, making it thinner, and that is correct. But since you have wavy hair too, the layers will curl dreadfully, (unless you like curly hair, then it's OK to layer) and you need to brush your hair to keep it DOWN all day.2) One-length long hair will add weight to your ends and pull the waves down making them look straighter, but don't expect poker straight!3) use a good moisturizing conditioner.4) i know the heavy mass look around your face, but you've got 2 options for this kind of hair, either have it very short or very long. When it is chin-lnegth like in-between, that's where you get the heavy look.I do speak from experience with all these advice :)Another point is, straightening won't help. it is temporary, but if your hair's stubborn, you'll see the waves again in no time!
