Hi ...I am thinking (the step just before considering) of going from dark brown to blonde... I got reasonably long hair, and it's in good condition... What worry me more than its condition after the bleaching, it's if it would suit me, the rest of my features... Does it involve lightening the shade of the eyebrows too?I am also worried about the reactions around me. Will people see me as an extra vain, fit-in-the-mold person ?I want to hear about people having bleached their hair, and what really happens AFTER

anna, i have never bleached my hair, but i have had several close friends who have had both good and bad experiences with it. i advise that you carefully consider your skin tone before bleaching, is it too light to go that blonde (ie will you be all one shade from crown to chin?) or does it have a yellow cast (blonde will make you sallow). as to eyebrows, i think thats a matter of personal preference. i have seen many women with blonde hair and dark brows (although that is a tip off to it not being "natural"). one thing to also think about is if the new color suits your personality, for example an african american friend bleached her hair a very light shade of blonde, and looked terrific, because she is a very outgoing person and bold in her fashions, it looked like it "belonged" on her. another friend, asian american, went blond, and cried for days because of the reactions she got (from some rather inconsiderate people) but the color was wrong for her, it gave her face a yellow cast and the overall look conflicted with her conservative personality and dress. One last thing to consider is what another friend, philippina, did, which was to get very light blond streaks put in her very dark hair. it looked great, because it picked up her hairstyle and matched her trendy fashion sense. but it was very expensive to maintain. i am sorry to ramble on, but one final point, if you do decide to go blond, then it be happy with it and don't let some interfering/rude people tell you that its wrong for you, because as long as you are happy, it is right for you. good luck with your decision.
