I believe that the solution may have sealed pores or killed hair follicles (I know I could be way off- that's just my best guess). He keeps his head shaved because he's quite embarrased by it (I personally think it's sexy) and wears a hat all the time. He's very reluctant to try anything drastic (like implants, hair club, etc.).
