deedee - two suggestions which depend on the length of your layers.1. after parting your hair, roll the hair on each side before putting up into ponytail. if your layers are somewhat long, the twisting should hold the shorter ends in place.2. for shorter layers, you could always use bobby pins. when my hair was shorter in the front and would fall out of a french twist, i would use a couple of plain bobby pins the color of my hair to hold the bulk of it back and place a simple decorated bobby pin (discreet rhinestones or faux pearls) in a strategic place, usually right behind my ears, to dress up the look and draw attention away from the plain pins.hope this was helpful. good luck with your new job.jj
