Hello, I have waist length dark strawberry blond hair. My hair is fine and tends to split at the ends, I guess it is average thickness. I've always wanted red hair, but I also want to keep growing it longer (possibly to my ankles). Would it be worth the effort and money to color it? Would it destroy my hair? Is it even possible on long hair? (I've never seen anyone with very long permanently dyed hair).

You can use a 'Deposit only color such as Redken 'Shades EQ' (a salon only color), which will give you the exact look you want without the 'Damage!' I use it all the time and it will leave your hair in wonderful shape after coloring. william
