I cut my long hair short and am growing it out. I've heard a lot about different products for hair growth with little enthusiasm for any of them. For some reason, the vitamin biotin seems to get a lot of press, although I haven't seen research that says it's much more important than most other vitamins and minerals for general health.However...I'm quite surprised that no one here has mentioned inositol (or if he has, sorry! I didn't see it). I don't have an advanced degree in science or medicine, but after seeing just over 1/4" in growth a month, I decided to do some research for myself to find out what really helps hair growth. One vitamin kept popping up time and time again -- inositol. It's a member of the B-vitamin family and from what I've read plays a vital role in hair growth.So....I decided to try it. I'll be the first to admit that I haven't consumed it long enough to make a good scientific judgment, *but* my hair growth since I started taking it is 5/8" per month! One big advantage to short hair is that it's easy to measure it consistently and accurately each month.I wish not to spread false rumors or make any unsubstantiated claims but simply want to suggest that others do research on their own to find out more about it.
