As a man who's never had hair in style before, I've been toying with the idea of cutting my hair short. Currently 20.5, and I really have a desire to have an in-style do for the first time in my life. I've tended to be either completely out of whack (ponytail that looked terrible) or got the "in" cut about a month after it went out. So, I had my long hair chopped off in December to a fairly benign, boring cut that I'd had all through high school (which was never really in style either).I've wandered through the magazine aisles and noticed cover-guys still tend to have the short spiky things (fitness magazines, Ricky Martin, etc.) or the modified caesar cut, but I look at these entertainment tonight type things and see, like, Tom Cruise with fairly long hair, and stupid teen comedies on TV where the guys tend to have longish (down past ears) hair. So, imagine my confusion. And how does one figure out what looks good on you anyway? $50/cut hairstylists aren't in my budget (went to one in December when I cut my ponytail and asked him and he goes "Well, what do you want?" I go "What do you think I could pull off?" he goes "Eh, doesn't matter, anything." Well thanks for clearing things up, buddy :).Right now, my last haircut was in May (just after school ended), and now that it's about to start again I know that I at least have to get a trim. Currently bangs down to my nose, sides to earlobes, back a couple inches long. I used to have a side-part, and parted it there ever since I got rid of the full head spiky thing at age 8, but in December it decided to part down the center and that's where it's been (though the hair seems to be getting a little thin in the front along/around the part) so I'm thinkin' the central part thing is a little... not good for my hair.Sorry for the rambling blah blah blah, but I figure it's best to give as much info as possible so you can understand my situation.
