My hairdresser says that my hair is to hard, due to too much protien. I have no chemicals on my hair but it continues to break. We tried to perm it and it did not take. Do you have any suggestions or advice?

It has remained the same lengthed for the last year and a half. I have spent so much money on trying different products but havent found one that works. Basically I am looking for a home remedy for hair growth or some sort of supplement to prevent hair breakage. Does anyone have any recommendations?
