Hi,I have light brown/dark blonde hair which I have colored light blonde for many years. Three months ago I had my hair cut short (the usual behind the ears cut) which made my hair healthy again. I haven't colored for two months and have a good 1 and 1/2 inches of rootage. My question is - can I have dark blonde/light brown highlights put in my hair to tone down the light blonde. I am hoping this would be a more natural look than dying the whole thing blonde again. Is this possible and have you seen it done on anyone before. Any info is greatly appreciated.Kelly

hithe answer is yes, you can. these are actually called "lowlights" (opposite of hihglights, naturally). they are done in more or less the same method as highlights, but, happily, will not be so damaging to your hair--that's because color is not being lifted out of your hair, only deposited.i think they look lovely and quite natural on lighter blonde hair (when done by a pro), and will definitely help you with the growing out phase, especially if you plan to fully resume your natural color.:) silvie
