Hi all!I need some feedback. I have an appointment this next Monday to get my color touched up and get a trim. My regular stylist quit and moved to Alaska and I have my appoinment with a new stylist at the same salon. I got to talk to her when I made my appoinment so I had kind of a consultation. My problem is that I am very afraid of a scissors happy stylist. I told her I need someone who liked to work with long hair and that I am growing out layers and wanting all my hair to be longer. I have about 4" of layers yet to get rid of. I don't want 4" trimmed off all at once. I am thinking of 1" and definitly not more than 2" but 2" sounds like so much length to lose at one time. Do I ask for 1/2" which has been my usual trim while growing out and hope she doesn't cut more than 1"? Or do I just be definite that I only want 1"? I am kind of scared about this. My previous stylist was recommended to me by a friend with long hair so I had confidence going to her the first time. After working really hard at growing out my hair for 7 months I am scared of getting too much cut off. It is just starting to feel long again and I am feeling like myself again. What do you guys think?Carolyn B

Carolyn,I would suggest that you ask specifically for a one halfinch trim. I would suggest that the stylist understandsyou need a one half inch trim, and then have her measurethe hair to be cut. All the stylist should cut are thesplit ends. So many beauticians are scissor happy withladies who have long hair. One half inch is the mostthat you should have to cut off.
