Hi. I have been higlighting my med. brown hair w/foils. I mostly use 30 volume dev. and 40 vol. on the part/crown. It becomes a very light golden blonde. My natural hair underneath is not woven as heavily and it looks dark against strands of light blonde. My ? is: can I use a toner on the base hair and then bleach w/foils over that as needed? A while ago I used a 1 level lift to lighten the base but it didn't make a visible difference. If I went from a level 4 to a 7 w/a toner, could I weave over that using a 10 or 20 vol. developer?Hope this isn't too confusing. Will add info as needed.Abby

That is actually a common process here at our salon. Weoften lighten with a toner and add highlights depending on the needs of our customer. Yes you could use a level 7 with a 20 vol, but you will still deal with having very light blonde streaks atop light brown/ golden blonde hair. It is something you could do for highlights, yes. I have seen it many times, and think it looks fantastic on most women. I, being a platinum blonde, dont have to worry about highlights though....:) Just those darn touchups and daily care....I'll be glad to help.Sabrina> Hope this isn't too confusing.
