My mother, who has the same problem, has had the best luck with Matrix products, specifically, the Systeme Biolage products. I use hydrating Biolage, as wellas their miracle Conditioning Balm. After I shower, my hair still being wet, I use Sebastian's Potion 9 leave in conditioner on the tips (as directed), twice daily.I saw that olive oil and johoba were being recommended as homemade oil treatments on several hair sites but HATED the results when I used these. Johoba is supposed to be closely related to your hairs natural sebum, but I couldn'r disagree more. Instead, get this: LARD is the best thing I ahve ever used. I melted it down in the microwave, added some vanilla to cut the stench, sponged it on, and left it there for about 4 hours. It softened, conditioned, and intensified the shine to my hair. It did NOT make it oily like the other suggested products. After the 4 hours, I wash it out (it comes out easily!), and conditioned the ends as usual. So far, lard is the best "oil" treatment I have found. If you can stand the smell, it's DEFINITELY worth it!!! Good luck. :)
