I'm curious to hear what shades of red look good on Asians? For example, some can get away with burgundy red while others look good with auburn. Of course, not everyone looks good in orangey reds due to clashing of skintones. I noticed that those with naturally pale porcelain skin can get away with reds than those who are more olive-toned or tanned. But which red does look good?

I heard about this new line called Loreal Excellence HiColor and it's especially made for dark hair (from black to medium brown) and to be used with 30 vol. developer for vibrant color. They have nice red shades as well as brown and blonde shades.

I like very pale or rather dark skin with burgundy, and auburn for others. I don't like the carroty orange much on anyone, I'm afraid, no matter the race.

I agree. Auburn/red would look better than the bright orange color.

Thanks for your replies, gals. I did a strand test with the Loreal hicolor and disliked it immediately. Too burgundy-red for my taste. So I'm back to blonde, naturally. :)

I have tried burgundy color before...I hated it on me...made my skin look sallow, icky...so I realized burgundy's not really my color...I probably look better with auburn red than burgundy red. Burgundy can look gorgeous on others, like your wife probably, but not in my case unfortunately.

So I'm still on lookout for a nice dark red simliar to Herbal Essences' model's picture - Beyond Cherry, or like Hydrience Ruby Twilight or Scarlet Shimmer.

Have anyone tried those?
