Whatup Ya'll,

I've been lurking on these boards for a minute, even b4 that cat Hater started posting all that clownish ish. I finally registered, didn't want to speak cuz I thought all ya'll cats were mad young (high school etc). Anyways, I tried every method back in the day(high school little bit of college). Kitted it up. Used to brush my hair in a s wave, (trying to articificially create waves). Even did that mess with the comb, (taking the tip and creating c360 circles-- some of ya'll been there don't front). Started brushing seriously at the end of July. Didn't cut my hair for 2 months. Straight did it old fashioned Twista way. Murrays, Hard Brush (till I switched to Diane's), durag, sometimes some Beeswax, once in a while wave activator- and brushed till my hand hurt. The front came out easy, but I didn't see the sides till the beg of September. I gave up though for like a week - moving to a new apartment - hard to maintina when you in transition and i was getting frustrated with the lack of connection with my waves. A week later, I was back in it brushing, and then I saw it. 360s. Now my ish don't spin all the way to the sideburns, but they spin pretty close.

Anyway my advice to newbies

1. Don't sleep on these cats - brush your hair. It ain't no joke. Nobody on this forum has a hair beautician degree, but the advice is functional. Most brothers hard to work real hard to get it spinning.

2. Maintaining is much easier than training

3. Don't cut your hair when you start. let it get nappy, let it curl/nap up. Brush even harder on these days. When you finally think you can't bear it nor more cuz your hair is woofing. Go another 2 weeks - trust (I went at least 2 months)

4. Murrays, Dax, whateva. Any of them will get u waves. Try to stay consistent when you training. IT is much easier to switch up with less damage once you have spinners.

Personalized advice that worked for my head.
1. Shampoo and conditioner every day- I know some people don't believe in washing your hair that much - I used to do it once every other day, but once a day seemed to help.

2. Started using conditioner - helped make my hair soft

3. I actualyl found my waves spun more, if I dried my hair (not too dry- but not soaking wet) then put some wave-gel activator before pomade.

4. I think you should use a lot of pomade to help train hair in the beginning, afterwards I haven't needed as much, sometimes needing nothing at all, but it helped with the start. And put more than you think, don't worry if niccas trying to talk about your greasy head.

5. Most of ya'll won't see it overnight, took 2 months and some for me.

Finally sorry for the long azz post. But much love to all the heads posting on the list, have patience for the new ones. Much love for taking the time to share your individual methods.

Best

C
