I'm wondering could I use hi-lift color to lighten few highlights around my face by several levels and then use a semi-permanent color to tone those highlights and not affecting my base? I'm looking at light brown/caramel highlights with my dark hair (sort of similar to J.Lo's highlights). Several inches of my roots are natural, while the rest of my hair was dyed with a dark dye almost 3 months ago. Will hi-lift color work with previously dyed hair or do I need to use a bleach (which I am trying to avoid at this time). I won't be highlighting that much...just several and want to avoid using a cap or foils. More of hair painting thing. Just to brighten my face a bit. Thanks!
