I have died my hair for the first time ever! I used the natural instincts product in (spiced tea) and the results.....well they aren't pretty! My hair took on more of the red tone than it did the brown. (my hair is light to med brown naturally) Any suggestions to tone down my flamin' red hair until it washes out? Thanks Heather

Prell shampoo removes color faster than any other shampoo. Also, the sooner you shampoo after coloring, the better. I use Natural Instincts too, and try to avoid washing my hair 24-48 hours after coloring for maximum staying power.
I'd also avoid the sun until the red tones down.

If you don't mind being darker, Heather, you could go get another Natural In stincts...accept in the ash family....like a dark ask blonde or better yet light ash brown and put it over the top.
It will be darker tho.
Call the 800# on the box and get their reccomendation. This should be your first step, come to think of it...
Don't put permanent color on your head thinking you can lighten the red it wont work, in fact it could make things worse.
Let us know how it goes...

Elissa & Sophie:
Thanks for the tips! I've noticed that the coloring is coming out each time I wash it. The red hair experience has scared away from coloring, so I think I'm just going to ride it out. Luckly I have long hair so I can keep it up and it doesn't look so bad.
Thanks again, Heather
