emm i mean blue will turn to green

i went to a hairstylist shop a few months before and i told her i wanted blue highlights. She says I cant because my hair is too dark and when bleaching my hair will turn to yellow so when i colour my hair will turn green. ???
How come I feel like she is telling bull****?
Is it true?

In a sense, she is right. Hair must go through many stages of lightning until it goes white. It will go yellow before white. Therefore, if you do not allow the bleach to stay on the hair long enough to turn white then it would be true.

BUT......

If you are using something over the highlights that are direct dyes....such as.....Paul Mitchells Inkworks, It will color the highlights blue. It will not however stay on there for over two weeks or so. Thats the fun of it, you can change the color every two weeks. They come in blue, red, neon red, orange, yellow, hot pink, green etc, etc.

So if handled correctly, it can really be fun.

so you can't dye blonde hair blue? I always thought you could. What if you just use a lot of it? Then the green wouldn't be noticable to all the blue you have in it.
