i've only dyed my hair once, at the salon i normally get my hair cut. it ended up being far more expensive than i was expecting, it was 70 something dollars. my friends were surprised by this too, although none of them really knew how much it should cost. i'm just wondering what other people pay for coloring. it was only the 6-8 week color. (oh, and my hair is medium length, around my shoulders.)

Is this straight color or with foil highlights in it?

I charge anywhere from $35 to $125 for color, depending on what I do. This does not include hair cut.
Corrective Color...$50 per hour.
A good color consult and my clients know how much it costs ahead of time...

it's just straight color, no highlights, no foil, just color. the price included the cut too, but it was just a trim. next time i'd like to get angles and/or bangs though, plus color.

That is about what I pay for straight color and trim with blow dry. It is less if it is just straight color with no cut or blow dry, about $35.00.

Not awake fully yet.....you can get the cut done at another time then the color next, sometimes that works so you don't have to pay for everything at once. What I do is leave before the stylist completely dries my hair. I like to let it dry naturally and it's especially comfortable on a hot day.

My charge for straight color and trim is $78.50. Its the same weather I dry and style it or not. This is average in the small-mid size city.
Remember, you are paying for thier knowledge and experience. Time and product are factored in also. The most important is the knowledge.
