Hi everyone! Well, I have naturally dishwater blond/light brown hair. I ended up trying 5 different kinds of blond hair color out-of-the-box. 4 were Loreal and 1 was Herbal Essense. I was so disappointed! All of the strand test lifted the hair/root to an orangy color. I even left the color on for longer than suggested to see if it would lift and it didn't lift enough. I don't even have that dark of hair. Has anyone had this result? I just want to reach a pretty beigy blond (like the color I get when I spend $125 at the salon), but I guess these out-of-box colors don't lift? I figure that they have to work or else they wouldn't continue selling them. I don't have any grey hair either. I even tried the "high lift" blonding and no luck. Any advice?

Thanks!
Cat

Try going to a professional beauty supplier (that services the non-prof) and get L'Oreal Preference in Champagne Blonde (8.1B... it's beighy) or whatever color you want and a separate bottle of developer. A product that works great to add to haircolor to neutralize brassy tones is Ardell Lock-In Blonde or Ardell Unred (to get rid of reddish tones). http:// - http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/product.asp?dept%5Fid=1480&pf%5Fid=240905 - http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/product.asp?dept%5Fid=1480&pf%5Fid=240905 I always had the problem of reddish and brassy tones. The Ardell Unred really helped that. Good Luck!!
