There are certified hair colorists but are there certified perm specialists? I'm wanting a body wave on my fine hair. I just stopped having it professionally colored because I want a body wave. It's been highlighted and low lighted and remains in rather good condition with little breakage and some shine still left. (thanks to salon products like kerastase) When I called certified hair colorists about a perm (thinking they would be best to do my body wave being that they have color knowlege) majority said they didn't do perms. I want something natural looking, not curls going every which way or some disaster that will fry my hair. (I want body wave that's slightly wavy like hair looks just after taking it out of a braid.) But, I want an expert who knows about color AND perms. HELP! Thank you so much for your advice! Joie ------------- na |

The very latest in technology of perms is the ISO perms. I would find a pro that uses these perms. They do amazing things. I have yet to see and ISO perm burn anyones hair. Alot of certified hair colorist don't do perms because they do not like to them. I hear the complaint of "having to do a perm" all over this country. I personally still do them. Some clients have to have them so that thier hair will do something instead of lying stick straight. P.S. I am taking the American Board of Ceritified Haircolorist test in November.
