I am asian, and my hair was dyed blue black. I've tried Prell, Tide, etc. and it's washed out a blue-ish purple tone out of my hair, but it is still "too" black for me. It looks really harsh against my skin tone. I want to get back to a dark brown color with warmer caramel tones- but still dark brown. The person who dyed my hair blue black (and insisted that I have blue black hair) said that all I can do is wait for it to fade out, unless I really want to hurt my hair by stripping it- which I don't want to do- I don't know if I can wait that long. PLEASE HELP!

I can't help you, but I just wanted to say you have my sympathy. I went from a lovely light brown with blonde highlights to the color of a new shiny penny with brass highlights. I'm stuck with that for a while too unless I really want to damage my hair. It's been a little over 2 weeks and I have almost 1/4" of new growth. I just keep looking at my natural color at the base of my head with great sadness.... maybe we should all just get together for a good cry.
Hopefully somebody here will know what to do.
BTW, did you go to a salon for this?

OMG.......I just came in to post the same question as you guys. I had light brown hair with just a few highlightes and my hairdresser told me to just do the roots myself, with a product SHE RECOMMENDED. I did this yesterday and my hair came out BLACK! I've tried everything to wash it out with no success. I called her and she said your just going to have to wait for it to fade, FROM BLACK......I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS I ALSO NEED SOME HELP ASAP.....I know what you are going through.

cbela...Hi, You don't have to wait for it to grow out. You will have to find someone qualified to help you do it though.
Find a good ColoristStylist. That's my best recomendation.
Sorry to sound so redundent.... hang in there.

thanks Sopie for the reply i did go and see a color correction speicalist " its a place that only colors and corrects bad mistakes. The owner was very honest and i told her that i went to a beauty supply store and they sold me a color remover and all this stuff to redo my hair, which i didn't do cause i was scared to death my hair was going to fall out. The women said thank god because there is nothing i can do until i can get most of the color out. then i need to go to her for her to put highlights through my entire head of hair and then put a glaze over that to have the illiusion of lighter hair. It's going to be very expensive but i can't go around with extremely dark brown hair, i look terrible and i haven't left my house.
