| Hey people, i'm a guy with fairly dark brown hair, not black, but pretty dark. I've been thinking about getting some highlights done, but don't know what color to get? I want it subtle, not drastic or like super bright. Was thinking more along the lines of a dark blonde,but dunno. What do you people think? sorry I dont have any pics.. |

If your hair is dark brown, any type of blonde (even dark blonde) highlights will look drastic. You could go with red highlights or medium golden brown or something like that to get a subtle change. It seems like the at home highlights are usually geared toward blondes, so I would stay away from that. You could try a wash out rinse to get an idea of how red might look, but it would be an all over change to your color. You are probably going to have to go to a hairdresser for anything other than a rinse of some sort. I am not an expert though. hey im a stylsit from boston ma, what i tell my male clients that color there hair with dark hair.. is to use a bleach, with a 20-30 volume depending how dark the hair is, then have your stylsit tone to the color you want.. witch for you i would suggest a dark to med carmal... ------------- Email, me and ill try to help a sister out!!!!!! |

| Hi, my name is Leana. I just had my hair bleached to strawberry-blonde about 2 weeks ago and I hate it. My natural color is Medium to Dark Brown and I want to go back to Brunette. Is it okay to do it myself?? I don't have enough money to go to a salon. Thanks for suggestion. |
