heya- i had long blonde (bleached) and dark brown (dyed) chunky highlighted hair. then i put a hot pink metalic dye on it, then 3 weeks later auburn. it was fun but i decided to go PLATINUM after a month.

i cut it to a long bob and quadruple processed it (not alone-- i went to a registered board certified AMAZING colorist in California) ask me and i will refer you to him.

the process took 8 hrs. bleach with 20 volume ONLY under a steamer, then deep condition. bleach again, deep condition. repeat 2 more times.

then, use a toner with NO VIOLET undertones (use a neutral base, NOT a cool base). blue based, not green.

follow with 3X weekly deep conditioning and i could not live without Wella Liquid Hair Reconstructer. Trust me on this. It has a resin that bonds to your hair with heat (blowdryer). That and Joico products.

yes my hair is damaged, duh. but it is beautiful and fun! it is possible, but if you have stubborn hair- do not go for the all-at-once method like so many say. bleach slow and condition between!
