Please Help if you can!!!
Hi, I have dirty blonde hair which I have been highlighting myself (pulling through a cap and applying a highlighter) with much success for years. But, the past two times that I have tried, most of the highlightiing didn't take. I think I have been in denial and realize that I have more greys than I thought. Can I highlight with a permanent color (that is pull through a cap and apply an actual color? Or, are the wash in colors that wash out in 28 or so shampoos reliable?
Any help is greatly appreciated!! I hate this!!

Ok I am a bit confused, do you mean that when you highlight your hair the highlighting bleach just does not bleach the grey hair? and you want to apply a color over it to cover the gray?

Yes, that is what I wanted to know. Sorry I wasn't too clear on that! My hair is not yet 50% grey, but the greys I have tend to be mostly on top and in the front. The highlighting bleach doesn't cover the grey hairs. Any ideas would be appreciated!

You know what, my mother had the same problem! The best thing to do is get it done at a salon- they have high quality bleach and the results are amazing especially on starting resisting grays. :)

Hello! the reason your having so much truble with your highlighting is because Grey or modled hair has no contributing pigment. Grey hair is not more resistant then other hair it just need a base color.
Pull your hair through the cap
Got to your local beauty supply store and get a perminant hair color such as 6N
While your there pick up a 10 volume and 20 volume peroxide.
Mix 2oz of 6n with 2oz of 10 volume peroxide Put it on the strands you pulled through the cap let it sit 10-15 minutes or ntill grey is fully saturated to desired level
Wash out
then mix your powdered bleach with you 20 volume peroxide untill you get a yougouart looking mixture apply on hair strands untill you get your desired level
------------- Honey! "That style looks great on you" :^)

Thanks so much for all of the tips!! I'm a little nervous but I think I might try. Also, what about semi-permanant colors? I purchased L'Oreal Colorspa Moisture Actif in wheat #46. Should I or shouldn't I?!
