My hair is a solid dark color and I miss my highlights. Will the permanent color fade? So far it''s been 6 weeks and there is no sign of fading. Is there a way to fade the permanent color without any strong chemicals? (my hair is already broken and lacking shine from processing) thanks for any advice!! It's not necessary if you're just depositing color, and it causes unnecessary damage. I hate to say it, but if it's been 6 weeks and showing no signs of fading, it's probably not going to. You may want to check with your colorist about this.
