have bleach blonde hair( which i do myself at home) i have decided id like to dye my hair back to a darker colour, nearer my natural colour of med brown. can i put a dye ( or colour) on which the bleach wont turn grey,orange, or green???!! |

I WOULD GO TO A SALON. IT COULD TURN OUT LOOKING GREEN. THEY WILL SAY IT'S COLOR CORRECTING AND MANY CHARGE $130+ FOR CORRECTING COLOR. ------------- |

| I have gone many times from bleach blonde to brown and back again and have never had a problem. If anything, The most difficult was going back to blonde when my hair was so dark. But going dark was easy. It never looked green. In fact it always ends up looking rich and healthier when I darken it. I say go for it at home! Use level 2 though (washes out in like 20 shampoos). It won't really wash out, but it has less peroxide than permanent color. Its cheaper than having a salon do it, and if it does turn out a shade you don't like, you can just do it again and it should take even better because it will be dark to begin with. |

| i just did the samething!.. my hair WAS platinum blonde white.. ala gwen stefani.. i just dyed it to a rich brown like ashlee simpson.. i used Wella Color Charm Semi color.. (the liquid not the creme tube) in 435 light golden brown.. mix equal parts color & charm developer and hair color (i did 2 bottles color and a little under 4 oz of developer.. my hair is just below my shoulders at my longest layer) and left the color on for 45-50 minutes.. its been nearly 4 weeks and ive shown NO signs of fading.. good luck!! |

I am a natural dark ash blonde/light ash brown (Somewhere in there) who since I was 22 have been streaking and foiling my hair blonde, professionally. Twice now, I have gone dark with a combination of dark golden blonde and dark natural blonde shades which appear more like brunette due to the way my hair shafts have sucked up the colour. I am very unhappy. I am wondering if it is too risky to try an ash blonde/ash brown hair colour at home myself. My colourist deposited the gold/warm lights back into my hair to avoid turning green/mud (as she calls it). So, I am wondering do I need to spend the cash for a professional again, or can I risk doing my own 'ash' thing? I should add that for a couple of years I want to stay away from bleaching, just to attain a healthy head of hair, which is why I want to go back to a more natural colour for a while. | The best way to darken your hair is to add warm color such as golden blondes or light browns, perferrably a semi or demi dye, then darken to either medium, dark or black color. Others said to dye with red or auburn dye before slapping darker brown color but that's if you want more warmth than golden blonde dye. All brunette hair have reds, golds and yellows whereas bleached blondes lack these. |
