Yup. I seriously cannot walk down a hairdye aisle in a store without getting an urge, even if I've dyed it recently :-P . I hate the drudgery of the dyeing process, but I like to make changes in my hair, especially very visible ones.

I am completely addicted to dyeing my hair.

Been dyeing it for about 7 or 8 years now and I've run the gamut from dark blonde to red to black and back again several times over. Never had it professionally done.

It's a standing joke with my family and friends that we don't know what my natural haircolor is anymore. So to prove to them that I do know, I stopped dyeing it for about six months. It used to be a nice auburn color when I was still a teenager; it's a horrid mousy brown like my Nana's now, and she dyed her hair to hide that color religiously until she was 60! My family doesn't understand that they all have nice haircolors (varying shades of red and one blonde) and I'm the one that was stuck with the plain mop o' brown hair. To be defiant, my haircolor is an ultra-dark almost black warm brown right now. They all hate it; I love it.

I can't pass the haircolor aisle without stopping to look at the new shades and consider what might be fun to try next. And unfortunately, I work in the drug department at my grocery store, so I'm often the one stocking the hairdye shelves. Gah.

I also agree that coloring your hair can be addicting! I've been every color from light blonde to dark brown, to red, highlights, you name it. I always get it done professionally, so, all of these changes over the years have cost me small fortune! I subscribe to a couple of hair magazines, which is partially to blame... Whenever I see a new color in there that I like, something goes off in my head, and poof, I'm on the phone making an appointment with my colorist. Friends of mine sometimes tell me "you're gonna have no hair left it you keep changing your color!" God willing, they're wrong! By the way everyone, I'm thinking of changing to a espresso brown base color with auburn/red highlights. My hair is currently medium auburn, but my natural color is dark brown. What do you think? Any thoughts and advice are welcomed.

Keep on coloring, fellow hair-addicts!!! LOL!

LOL well i'm glad to know i'm not alone!! Hehe...I agree it is just so tempting to stand in that hair color aisle and browse through all the new shades and different brands! I just pray that advancments in science will make it possible to grow ur hair 12 inches in a week! Then i would not wory about damaging my hair too much, lol. That would be the end of hair coloring disasters!!!
