Hi! What's your opinion on how long color should be left on the ends of the hair to refresh the color after a root touch-up? I've heard that it's bad for the condition of the hair to apply color on the ends at all, but, I feel the ends need to be refreshed a bit after a root touch-up, otherwise, they tend to look lighter than the rest of the hair. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Kuroneko, Beachgerl, Snuggles, anyone?? Can any of you please lend your advice on this? I'd really appreciate any thoughts/advice that you would be kind enough to contribute.
Thanks very much!

I color my hair red at home. for the ends, i comb through/ apply remaining dye and leave on for an additional 5-10 minutes. I suspect it would depend upon how much your color was faded. Last time i left on for 10 minutes and it was a bit dark so next color i will only leave on 5-7 minutes.

I'd say for a refresher, 15 mins max, depending on just how faded the color is, and how long it's been since you've "refreshened" it. :) If you refresh every time you touch up your roots, you probably don't need to keep it on exceptionally long. If you only refresh every say, four months, you might actually want to consider doing all-over color.
