I just used the Loreal Colourexperte system medium ash brown truffle...I colored a few days ago & liked the color brown that resulted from the Step 1. I was a bit unsure about doing the highlights (step 2) & didn't have much time to do them right then anyway, so waited a few days later after calling the 8 # to find out if that was OK. They said it was, just do it w/in a week & shampoo the day before, not that day. I followed the directions, but my highlighting came out very orangey & brassy. It looks more like a solid color all over, rather than strands of highlighting, too. I am very disappointed & don't know what to do...of course it's Fri. night (Labor Day weekend), so they won't be there unil Tuesday!! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try a brown rinse. You can find them at your local wal-mart. It's basically shampoo haircolor. It's very sheer, and should take the edge off of that brassiness, without any sort of damage. I'd try it in a medium to light brown :)

Thank you for the hint...do you mean the rinse like "Rhue", or something like that? I know you leave it in....I tried it b/f when trying to grow out a color...it really makes your hair feels so sticky/coated. If I went to a colorist & asked to apply a "toner" that would do the trick?
