Does anyone know why you cant dye salon dyes over box dyes? I know its a no no. What would happen?

If there is a reason, I would like to hear it to. I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to.

Not sure it is a No No. Particulary if done more than a couple of days ago.
I presume though you haven't used base Henna as I'm alway wary of that as it can effect added colours

I don't think it's a no-no, unless something has changed in the last 10 years or so? When I was around 14, I managed to turn my hair a dark forest green color (LOL) and my mom took me to a salon to fix it. The guy didn't use any color remover, just slapped some haircolor on there and it came out a near perfect match to my natural color.

It depends on what was used. If you went dark and need to go light, unless they use a color remover( not a good idea in the salon- most use bleach based removers) they will have to bleach because processed color doesn't lift process color be it a regular dye with 20 v or a highlift- it won't change the color at hand but it will damage your hair.

If all they do is slap on a darker dye than whats on your hair- no problem.

Sometimes its not about going lighter, rather canceling out a color with another color.

It all depends on what was used and what was on the hair previously.
