I just dyed my hair Light Ash Brown by Loreal Paris Superior Preference (6A). And my natural color was a dark brown kinda black color. But it didn't look brown. And now I want to dye it BLACK...not blue black just a nice shiny BLACK color. I had success with Loreal Preference except it came out a bit lighter (or maybe it's just b/c I had natural red highlights? could that be possible) or maybe its not lighter just redder? idk. I wanna wait about a month and dye my hair Loreal superior Preference in Soft Black level 3 or natural black in 2 (which ever is blackest). Would this cover up my haircolor now COMPLETELY? or would it eventually fade out and become blotchy in places. I don't want my color to be black not dark brown like some soft blacks turn out to be.

and if anyone else has used a store brought hair product in black and it actually came out BLACK please recommend it.

and is it true that black is a harsher color on hair?

and how long should you wait before you dye your hair again.

I use revlon colorsilk and it turned o.k.Some parts on the top are kinda dark brown-don't know why, I did it like two weeks ago so it can't be that it's already washed out.. I don't know how long should you wait ,but I want to dye it again, same color only different brand. I'd like to try feria, so if anybody tried it in black I would appreciate some suggestions too.

i heard loreal feria burns out your hair. but i used loreal superior preference for the dye job i have now and it turned out good and the color is bright and has faded yet...i just don't like this light of a color on me.
