I died my hair a nice coppery red, my natural is dark brown. The roots are the perfect shade but I just can't seem to lift my ends no matter what I do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Melissa

You don't say what product you used or if you have previous color on your hair, which if you do, COLOR CAN NOT LIFT COLOR!!!
But you can make what you just did a tad more vibrant several different ways.
I would need to know what you used before I can tell you what to do. Write back please.

I used professional L''oreal Feria Copper Red and 30 volume, no previous color on my hair. My ends are kind of beat and porous so I assumed they would''ve sucked the color right up.

Any ideas on how to lift the darker color from my ends to a lighter more vibrant red with out killing my hair?

I find it highly doubtful that you even need a 30 volume over your entire head in the first place. If your ends are porous, then they should process quickly...but since their not...I suggest you should instead use a 20 volume on your whole head EXCEPT your ends, and a 30 or 40 volume on your ends. Doing this now though, it may not even make a difference considering your ends took SOME color...color makes color darker. I would honestly sugegst you leave it alone...if its not that bad to you--just be satisfied with what you have, or you could dig yourself a bigger hole.

If you didn't have any previous color on the ends then what happened is that the ends didn't get enough processing time, ends usually need a higher volume & longer processing time because that is considered the cold shaft, we usually use 20vol for the scalp area and 30vol on the mid shaft & ends, but now that you've already colored you hair, you'll need to use bleach + 10vol and just apply it to the mid shaft & ends, just where it's dark, get it on quickly and then watch it closely since you just need to come up just a tad.
After it lifts, you'll need to apply color over it to tone it back to the color you want.
I'm going to recommend the Clairol Complements -DEMI -permanent in 8RC or 6RC, since I can't see your hair you'll have to be the judge on which is closer- but demi's tend to grab, so I would go with the 8RC and you'll need to buy the Promoter that goes with it. Mix it in equal parts of color to developer. Process for up to 15 minutes.
