I have dark brown to black hair I had recently got my hair streaked with blonde.. Turned out yellow and didnt like it so I went to someone else she put a medium brown color back on my hair It looks soo much better than with the yellow in it but in the sun it looks kindof dark orange with red in it.... What can i do? Im afraid to do anything myself at home but yet I dont want to go to a salon. Its been about a month. I just want my original hair color back.. Should I consider cutting my hair so it wont take as long for the color to get out? PLease help!!

Peaches, No cutting your hair is not necessary. You may want to first call the salon and explain your dilema. Most professionals gaurantee their work...sometimes even up to a month. Your problem is miner. You needed a toner the first time to neutralize the yellow and produce a pretty shade of blond. The second color was probably too warm of a formula and now youre seeing orange. Also, it could be fading. Anywho...if you want to return to your natural your stylist can just match up the color. Keep in mind color fades...you may need to do the color a few times to get it to stay! Good luck Gina Oh yeah....Please do NOT try to fix it yourself!

Thanks Gina.. Actually I already contacted the place where it had happened and they would nt fix the problem.. So i went to someone else that I knew.. So do u think that maybe if I just color it 2 more times the red will not come up.. I know it fades but what is the best shampoo to keep it from fading?

It's hard for me to give you an exact answer, not knowing what color was used. Answer: My best piece of advice is to make sure your stylist is not using permanent color. You need a Demi aka Semi. the reason for this... 20 volume(the developer in perm. color) will lift your natural color and produce warmth. With that said browns are naturally warm. Maybe next time ask her to use N(natural) with a bit of A(ash) I know it fades but what is the best shampoo to keep it from fading? Answer:Shampoo... Use a moiturizing one for colored hair. What does your salon offer? You can also use a color shampoo to help combat the reddish cast. Artec makes one called cocoabean...I'm sure their are other similar products out their, however I'm fmiliar with that one.
