After getting my hair done then trying to fix it my hair is now a blond/yellow/orange color. It has only been a couple of days so I think my hair salon may fix it for free. I want to get rid of the yellow/orange color but keep the blond. I suspect that if I don't say what I want they are probably going to put that toner on my hair that makes your hair kind of a dingy gray color. That looks awful so I don't want that.
What should I tell them I want to have them do? I think I saw someone say something about a voilet toner. What color would that make it? Does it make it purple or something or does it just remove the orange\yellow?
If they will not do it for free what product can I use to fix it myself? Thank you in advance so much, you guys are really nice to answer people's nightmare haircolor posts!

In the future, always let the salon know right away that you don't like it.
Depending on how dark the orangy parts are, some sections may need to be bleached more to remove the orange. If it's very light, then a blue-violet toner can be used to neutralize the tones and make it blonde. However, it's best if everything is a fairly uniform shade of yellow, over which a violet toner would be used.
Anyway, definitely go back to the salon and ask for them to fix it. I would think they should do so for free or really cheap.

You should just go the hairdresser
and first get your hair bleached to yellow or pale yellow depending what shade you're going for
than you'll have to tone, a violet or blue violet toner would probably be the best choice to cancel out the remain yellowness.

I went to the salon and they fixed it for free. They tried to get rid of the orange but it wouldn't come out so they had to do it dark brown to cover the orange. At least now it looks like a normal human color. It actually looks pretty cool! Thank you for your gracious help!
