I was just wondering, when my hairstylist did my hair dark brown it came out kind of dark. If I use that color fix does it just lighten it up a few shades (thus making it not so dark) or is it too risky because it might come out some unusual color that I don't expect?

Don't colorfix yet.!
Often, right after your hair has been dyed it is super saturated and a shade or two darker than you might have preferred. Best thing to do is wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo and hottie-hot water and wait for the color to fade a bit. It will probably tone down through this non-damaging method in a week or two. You can also try hot oil treatments as well.
All permanent hair dye eventually lightens. Be a bit patient and your hair will thank you for it

I totally agree with PetaPixie. I just dyed my hair dark brown and it looks black! But I know in a week or so it's going to be brown. Just give it some time and a few shampoos.
