I have a hairpiece on a clip that I love, which has some braided and it matches my hair color perfect, but it is synthetic. I want to use it for extensions by weaving. If I take the clip out, it is one-piece w/rows of braids, so I think it could be used as a weave. If I don’t use a iron on it and use low heat with the hair dryer, what does any one think about using this hairpiece? I do wash my hair everyday because it is so oily. When I think about what I have heard from people in how nature/real hair tangles and looses its shine, it seems to be a great solution for me.
What does anyone think?

Personally, I'd use steam before a hair dryer. Synthetic hair is extremely shiny, but just a nanosecond too long with heat, and it looks horrible and ratty. Heat on synthetic is extremely tricky to use.

PS: As far as tangles, my experience has been that synthetic tangles worse than human hair. Synthetic tangled hair just kind of sticks straight up unnaturally.

Elsewhere, you asked about frequent washings. I've always had an oily scalp and when I got extensions, I was told to only wash my hair once or twice a week. I thought, "Are you crazy?!" I never thought I'd survive.

But here's what I found: my frequent washing was *causing* the oily scalp! It took about three weeks, but my scalp finally slowed down with the oil production. Also, when I felt that the oil was just too much, I simply sprinkled the top of my hair very lightly with cornstarch to absorb the oil, and it worked extremely well.

If you wear bangs, and the bangs just get too oily, you can wear a shower cap and pull out the bangs (out from the cap) and wash only the bangs. That's a great way to get "fresh"-looking hair. For some reason, when the bangs are freshly washed, it really helps give the illusion that the rest is clean, too.

I would strongly recommend against washing extensions (synthetic or human) everyday. It takes a long time for the tiny braids to dry, and you may risk some rather unpleasant effects.
