Can someone tell me where to get beautiful and safe hair extensions in NYC. I am not interested anything with glue or heat. A cold method is preferred. I have thin, shoulder length hair and would like to have length and body.

Hi!
Try Hairlocs- no glue, sewing, no nothing but cold application. I have been wearing these for awhile and love them! There are many Hairlocs specialist in NY. Take a look at their website www.hairlocs.com and call their 800 number, they can refer you to a Hairloc stylist in your area. Let me know if you have any specific questions, I'll try to answer them.
Ciao, Nelly

Hi Nelly I've seen some before and after pictures from people using hairlocs. one thing that i'm worried about is whether or not the hair will blend naturally with my own, my hair is thin. i wanted to have 6 inches added plus body. How is your experience with this? Can people tell you have extensions? Also everything in this city is expensive (nyc), but i want a qualified person to do my extensions...how much is it approx.? Of course you dont know how my hair looks like but just a ballpark figure.I dont know anyone personally that has extensions and this is somthing i want to research thourougly before I put down loads of money and potential risk to my hair, your response is appreciated, you can also email me at nari_kyak@hotmail.com. thanks so much

Hi,
Well I have fine hair as well and I had it cut short to my shoulders and got tired of the look so I went for extensions. No one can tell I have extensions except for those that I have told. I have blonde hair with different color blonde highlights about 6. My hair was so well blended that many girls come up to me to find out who colored my hair. It seriously looks as if the extensions had grown from my head. My extensions cost me I think between $1800-2000. I don't really remember. I find my extensionist via Hairlocs.com and I called their 800 number and asked what stylist were in my area and they gave me a few choices. Call them maybe they can recommend someone in NJ, or outside the New York area.

Hi Nelly, do you know of a salon in Atlanta that uses Hairlocs? Is this the cold method? I have my Greatlengths put in at Joseph Kristie salon in Buckhead, Atlanta I love them but this sounds alot better for your hair! Thanks for any information, Judi

HMMMM.. My sisster had Hairlocs done from one of their Recommended Salons.... and they kept sliding out!!!!!!!!
She has fine hair and the Stylists swore it didn't matter that the hairlocs were wonderful....HA... She spent $2000 and they started falling out within a week and it just kept getting worse. Not to mention the Recommended salon would not refund her any money!!!!! Personally I would have raised HECK with the place if they had had me for a consultation and told me it would work on my hair!!!! they just told her WHOOPS>>>> I guess your hair was to thin...(basically go away lady)

Hi Judi. I have a friend that I met on heralopecia.com who has hairlocs. Based on what she has told me and her pictures I have decided to go to a consultation, which is scheduled for tonight. I have been researching this pretty extensively since it is somewhat costly and have not read a lot of negative information on the process. I have read a couple negative reviews hear and there, but for the most part they seem positive. I don't know how thin your hair is, but one woman said that she wasn't a candidate because she was too thin on top. I hope that this helps. Good luck. You can e-mail me if you need more info. beccaland1@yahoo.com.
