I have not tried either and if you could tell me anything about them, that would be great! I use keratin glue right now... are these better? The same? worse?

Please let me know,
Kristin

Here's a review on shrinkies.

So far shrinkies have only been determined to have an adhesive coating of some sort on the inside. It may or may not be keratin. If you're going to use a keratin glue for an extension, why cover it with plastic as well? Hmm.

Kristen,

What kind of hair is that in the top photo? Looks smooth and shiny.

It's bohyme hair.... The best in my opinion.

Thanks amm for the link! I didn't realize it was done over a fusion bond.

So you don't actually fuse the hair though right??? I just want to make sure I understand... You put the shrinkie around the clients hair and a pre-tipped bond then just shrink it on? Is that right? I just want to make sure you don't fuse a pretipped peice to the hair and then heat a shrinkie on top of that.

One more thing, do the shrinkies come off easy? Do you use the same removing solution that you use for a keratin bond?

Thanks again!

Kristin,

Is there a specific place you purchase that bohyme hair? I've discovered one company's hair can be much different than anothers, even though they're using the same description and photos for selling purposes.

You do need a fusion wand with the shrinkies. You do not need pre-tipped hair or to use hair with any glue whatsoever. There is no fusion involved before the shrinkie application. You thread it through the hair same as a microring, place your extension tip in the opening, and lightly press the wand over the shrinkie. They really do shrink very well around the hair. When they're warm, you roll them in your fingertips and form a nice bond. I have about 20-30 in right now and they're about the size of a grain of rice.

Removal involves pressing the fusion wand over the top of the shrinkie and sliding it down the hair shaft. It slides off easily. There is a small amount of residue from the shrinkie and I have actually discovered I only need to use a small amount of acetone on a cotton square and it takes it off. I do not have any keratin bond remover so I'm not sure how that works with it.

If you'd like to try a couple to test, I can pop a couple into an envelope to you and mail it. My email is info@creeksidesoap.com :)

i had my extensions taken out. i had them sewn in.
i experienced a little damage to my own hair and i
also lost hair, it feels a lot thinner. i would like to try
another method but i'm not sure. i'm hispanic with straight thin hair and would like something that would not damage my own hair. the look i want is just to add more volume, but still keep it long and straight. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
