I've ordered micro rings and kanekalon hair (and a do-it-at-home microring kit) the hair is dark blonde and light blonde that i am mixing. my natural hair is dark blonde. I'm probably having my salon do them the the first time and then my first help me with the up keep.
I have no idea how this is gonna come out....anyone tried the microrings or kanekalon hair??? does it look totally fake or ok???

The rings work great with that hair.

It will look great but only if you have straight or just slight wave to your hair.

The hair should last about 3 weeks then it starts to looks damaged.

You can at that point take a steamer over it to smooth it out.

Dont use the rings with any human hair.

hey thanks for responding...sounds great! upkeep every 3 weeks will be ok with me.
why isn't human hair good with the microrings?? does it fall out easy? I didn't go with the human hair because I wanted to try a cheaper option with the rings since it's my first time doing it.
it's being shipped out tomorrow! I can't wait!

Apparently, the reason they slip out with human hair is that human hair is porous and shrinks when it's washed, causing the rings to then slip out. (This is also a big problem with hairlocs and eurolocs.) Synth hair is nonporous, therefore it tends to work better with the ring method.

Good luck!

OK its me again! turns out I had a major brainfart when I ordered the hair!

I have dark blonde hair with light blonde streaks now but am tired of the constant root upkeeping every 4 weeks plus its really frying my hair. so I was thinking "hey I'll dye it back to dark blonde and then put dark blonde extentions in it" weeeell..when I got the hair today...it looks good and all...but I really don't think I want darker extentions in my hair...I am gonna regret it later..soooo...it's going back where it came from...and I just ordered new light blonde synethic hair of a better quality called "super synthetic" that you can flat iron and curl and everything. because who am I kidding..I wanna be blonde!
now I just have to decide if I'm still dying my real hair dark blonde and then adding light blond extentions...or if im gonna keep the bleached head I already got...we'll see. I'll keep you updated!

BTW I put a microring with the kanekalon hair in my boyfriends hair while he was sleeping this morning to test it out! it was really easy!

Hi Kaela,

Just curious: What's "super synthetic"? Is that a particular brand of monofilament? Do you have any links to it? And are you sure you can iron it?

here's the link http://www.happyhair.se/product_info.php?cPath=39&products_id=101&osCsid=7ef3853e13e48ca49bef63e68520152f - http://www.happyhair.se/product_info.php?cPath=39&products_id=101&osCsid=7ef3853e13e48ca49bef63e68520152f

it's in swedish but i'll translate it for you.

"Super synthetic hair is the latest in synthetic hair. More natural looking hair doens't exist on the market. It has the same qualities as human hair, you can curl, straighten and blow dry it. The hair can take heat up to C100-150 degrees. It's unbelievably silky and smooth."

I guess you can't really believe it until you have tried it but this company is supposed to specialize in extentions...

I guess we'll see....I'll get the hair on friday!
