How funny I find this site today I have a client that just called me today and asked me if I could bleech some of her hare to turn it purple. I tried to talk her out of it. Just because she has so much bleech on her head. I think this will work though.. Is this human hair and if so how does it adhere to your own hair. Cant wait for u to get back to me she really wanted to schedule the appt to get the bleech job.... i hope this is good news

Kewl! What's neat about this is that it doesn't fade or bleed onto your own hair. The tips are perfect for even the smallest size extentubes! Kristin, you'll need to do this on eBay, too!

Hey, can you put the names of the colors underneath each hair swatch so we'll know the proper color to ask for?

My neice LOVED the ones I put in for her over the holidays. She took all my purple!

OK, now....

Will you sell us some ProHair too? please please please?

Pro Hair? Is that the synthetic stuff?

Kris408: Adding purple extensions will be perfect for your customer. If you were to dye the hair it would fade and bleed immediately and never look right. Just to get some ideas, here are some examples of my clients with some different colors (My profile picture is a good example of the red streaks too):

I put mine in with extendtubes from hairpiece.com I may be able to work something out with you also to sell you some of those too. The only thing you would need to buy is a microneedle which is usually about $5.00 (I don't have those). You can check out a demo for the extendtubes here:

Yippieeee!!! This is exciting. The hair is silky straight, I assume? Which brand is it?

Those client photos are excellent. I particualrly like the black-and-platinum combo. I had my hair like that for awhile and I loved it--very Xtina in the Dirrty video.

I've got to check these out. I'll email you off the boards...

Hi there Kirsten, the colours in the second picture look fantastic, could you tell me which they are. Don't no if you remember me but you've sent out some samples of some blonde bohyme to me in England, can't wait till they come. I've e-mailed ebonyline to see if they can supply me with a bohyme colour ring, will I be able to use that colour ring to order hair from superhairfactory. Thanks so much for all your help chick xx

The hair is all silky straight but I do notice that it gets a little bit of a wave to it after it's washed just like Great Lengths do.

The colors in the second picture are #613 (blonde), #2 (dark brown), and dark pink. There are a few streaks of some medium brown in there but you can't really see them in the picture.

I'll get those colors sent to you Amm

It's this:

http://www.prohair.us/ - http://www.prohair.us/

Someone said it's what this stylist uses, too:

http://www.boogiemama.com/album/thumbnails.php?album=1 - http://www.boogiemama.com/album/thumbnails.php?album=1

The look of it is amazing. If it lasts 3 months and human hair lasts 3 months, why pay triple or more for the human. It'd be fun to try it out anyway.

Unfortunately it's not for sale to the public. How does that work? Is it considered proper for a licensed person to sell to unlicensed?

I'm sure if it's not for sale to the public they'd want to keep it that way.... but then again how could they possibly monitor everyone

If I ever get any info on that I'll post it up

Yes, they are all human hair. The first photo has about 15 or so red streaks all put in closely together on one side of her head. The second picture probably has about 20 or so dark pink streaks. The purple looks exactly like the picture above, that's an actual picture I took of my colors. I'd describe it as a medium purple.

To those who have ordered from me, I sent your hair out today

Then should I order the kit today275.00 or should i get the kit for 65.00. and if so what size rings should i use client has fine.. damaged hair..damaged with bleech.. just want to make sure i do this right.. Please email at hoenckkristina@yahoo.com so i can send the $ off to u never used paypalls.. im never on the internet.. this is like my 10th time..

I usually use the medium sized microlinks. You can buy pre-tipped hair or you can buy wefted hair and make your own tips. If you choose to make your own read this link:

http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forum=AMB_AP934431446&id=1181 - http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forum=AMB_AP934431446&id=1181

If you are planning to do an entire head I'd say you'd use anywhere between 200-250 pieces depending on their size and the overall desired look you're going for.

What kits are you looking at? (can you send me a link so I can see which ones you're talking about)

I can send you out those colors. It would be $27.50 for the hair and I'm not sure how much the shipping would be if you want it shipped with a faster method. I can check into that if you want or I can mail them throught the regular mail.

Just let me know ;)

Thanks a lot chick

I don't recommend the Doctor locks microrings. The paint on them chips off and you are left with silver rings. Instead buy this kit for $99:

http://www.hairpiece.com/product.asp?pf_id=APE151 - http://www.hairpiece.com/product.asp?pf_id=APE151

These rings are WAY better!

Best of luck,

Ok thanks I just bought the kit... those rings are kinda of pricey... is those prices for hair stylist... I have my lic...Ok Im gonna buy thoses purple strand for my client.. so im gonna have to buy that glue follow the directions and then apply the hair threw the micro ring clamp and go on right,, how long should it take? One of the other stylist that works with me wants me to red.. but her hair is fine and curly is there any curly color ones...

Kris, I think you'll be very pleased with that kit from hairpiece. I like hairpiece's extentubes over Doc Locks rings, too. The extentubes lay flatter and hold their color longer.

When you do the math on the extentubes, they come out to about 5 cents each and they are reusuable if they happen to open up nice for ya. That's way cheaper than shrinkies are. Having all three sizes of extentubes and the correct size needles is a great investment if you're doing extensions for the long haul. You will definitely have a favorite size ring and use them more often. I like small and medium the best but sometimes they can be tough to open. The small ones are so incredible to wear around the crown and temple area. You can't even feel them if they're laying flat.

Make sure you close them with pliers that have no teeth/ridges on the inside and use pliers with teeth/ridges to open them.

I'm going to take Amm's advice (again ) and post some listings on ebay so I made a tutorial for perspective customers and I thought I'd share it with all of you. I'll probably post this in a seprate thread so you may see it twice.

This is how I install my extensions except I use a threading needle instead of the wire. I don't sell the needles but I can give my buyers the wire so I chose to picture it that way.

Sorry for all the watermarking on my pictures lately; I'm thinking of starting my own website here soon so I don't want them stolen.

Kristen,

I want to order a few of these. I really love the dark red which I think will go nice with my dark brown hair. I am going to ask the little girl I babysit on Monday if she wants some too. I also need some of those links (what holds the hair in), do you sell them also? Thinking if I just start with a few maybe I can get the hang of it and try the bottom part of my had someday.

Yeah I can sell you the links too, just add $.15 each and let me know what color you want(light brown, dark brown, black, and blonde). I can also send you the template and wire for $1 more.

Hey Kristen can't wait for the colours to come, received my bohyme colour ring from ebonyline today the hair on it feels so soft and silky its unbelievable, if the hair is like that then I think all my clients will be happy. Do you two perhaps get on this site together to promote each other????? I am just curious because on every question Kristin and Amm are always responding with each other. And are on every subject in the hair extension catagory. It almost seems like a scam to promote Kristins business. I hope you both are not trying to pull something over us. It is very obvious that you two know each other. You may be vetern but there is a reason for it. I think were all catching on. I think integrity issues need to be addressed. I come on here hoping to find some answers and all I see is Kristin and AMM responding to each other and Amm supporting Kristin and her hair business. Something is not right here! I think I will go somewhere else hopefully I will find a site that doesnt have scams like this.

Hi there Kristen, could you tell me if you know how many pre-tipped strands I would get out of a 22inch 4oz weft from ebonyline. They have ran out of the 18inch and are sending me the 22inch instead but I'm worrying that it will be a shorter weft.xxx

It will be a shorter weft but you still should have enough for your whole head. Here's a picture of something I did with one package of 22" Bohyme:

You should still be able to make plenty of strands.

I try to go about 1 inch below the part line and The blending is a result of using the same color extension as the hair you are attaching it to. For instance, my little sister had about 5 shades in her hair so when I grabbed the piece I wanted to apply the hair to I would match that to the extension. The result is perfect blending!

What color streaks are you looking to get? The amount you'll need really depends on how dramatic you want it...

Kristin, I love your model on pg.5. The first girl. I'd like to do something similar to hers. I hate to ask again... I do grasp the idea of staying off natural parts, but to blend those crown layers (mine are 5" at best) which bonding technique is best? I've seen girls with keratin fusion and it has a "beaded" effect, which I refer to as dingleberries!
Thanks again for being so generous with your knowledge.
P.S Kim's a nut!

LOL Gina "dingleberries" thats a new one! I think the shrinkies would be the smallest attachment method. The shrinkies shrink down really small then youd only have "mini dingleberries"

For shorter layers on top, I layer the top rows (from the ears up) of extensions with a hair razor to blend the crown in with the extensions.

I mostly use fusion and extenstubes. The less visible of those are the fusion kind but the extendtubes are better for your hair... What some of my clients do is links all over and the row closest to the part in fusion.

I hope that helps,
Kristin

Hi there, Kristen, sorry to bother you again, when you put your 22inch extensions into Sarah's hair, did you must put them and and cut the bottom if at all, or did you do any cutting of the extensions to blend in at the crown. I noticed on another post that somebody had done this. I just put mine in usually, I don't usually do any cutting of the extensions at the crown??? Also, when you pre-tip and put in your client's bohyme hair, after three months do you find you can reuse this bohyme hair, as I've also noticed on another post that somebody said that bohyme doesn't last longer than three months. I know this is mostly all you use so I thought you might be able to give me feedback on this xxxxxxxxx

I do not do ANY cutting what so ever to blend the crown in. The only cutting I do is just at the very bottom to give it a rounded look.

First off I have to say those extension pictures look amazing Kristen you do a beautiful job!
Personally my hair (and most of the gals that I do) would never work in a stick straight style. My hair is a bit wavy/frizzy and no matter how much I straighten it a bit of moisture of humidity and it waves/frizzes up. And when that happens the top layers of natural hair are very obvious from the long lengths. Thats why I put in light layers. It fluffs up the extensions and gives it more body and bounce. And I also put alot of curl in my hair. The layering makes a curl style work much better also. I know this isnt a great picture but this is how I wear my hair

Yeah, I know what you mean. Some styles do require some cutting. Lucky for me, most of my clients are in their 20's and the style right now seems to be stick straight so it works.... I know I scrunch my hair frequently to get it wavy. I curl it from time to time too... I guess I have lots of styles

Here's me with scrunched hair:

clairey: Are you the one who used thier boyfriends paypal acct? If so everything has been recieved and sent out.

Amanda8Beechwood:
Yes, it's silky straight hair. I just wait about 15 minutes after I shower, scrunch it with a little mousse and finish it with a light mist of hair spray and walla!

Your funky colored streaks are also on the way, let me know when you recieve them

Thanks a lot, its just that I started tipping the 14inch bohyme from ebonyline last night and I've only done 70 strand, they're not thin or thick and on my working i.e. how many inches I've used for that 70 i'm only going to get about 220 out my 14inch so I'm panicking now. Did you do 200 thin or thick streaks chick xxx thanks for your help

As long as you're making strands that fit throught the links you'll be fine. Make sure they are not so big that you have to jam them into the links... As to how many that means you'll have, I don't know the exact number.....

It's all the same amount of hair no matter how you divide it. Just make sure it's small enough to fit throught the links and you'll be fine.

I didn't think of it like that, I'm using shrinkies so I don't suppose it matters. I don't know why but I was panicking that if my 22inch weft only made say 150 strand that there wouldn't be enough for my client's head, doh, silly me, thanks anyway chick xx
