Im thinking of trying fiber hair with shrinkies when I do my hair again.
Im finding a limited supply of synthetic hair on wefts, at least in the styles and lengths that I would like.
I know pre-tipping weft hair is easier but does anyone have any tips or tricks for pre-tipping bulk hair so it dosnt get messed up when you pull the hair?

Here is one suggestion I found on a wig making site, its a tutorial on how to make your own wig.
If you scroll to the very bottom, pic number 9 I think, its called a drawing mat, thats how they keep the hair from bunching up.

Any other suggestions would be great.

That's a great link, thanks!
I understand that the "hackle" is also used to blend hair for highlights, etc. Has anyone used one?

Yes I've used a drawing mat, they are very popular over here in the salons in England. They are great for blending before you pre-tip your own hair, I used to use one when I did the gluing method instead of cutting it off a weft xx

Thanks Amanda. That's quite helpful. The link is down right now, but I'll check it again later today.
Just to make sure I'm thinking of the right thing, it's like a piece of wood with a bunch of thin nails sticking up from it--sort of looks like a medieval torture device?
