I was wondering if anyone here uses bulk hair, rather than weft hair, to pretip strands. If so, any tips on handling the strands during the process?

Never used bulk. Oh, I tried and it was an incredible mess and I had hair everywhere.

Someone mentioned a drawing mat. I think that's supposed to be used when dealing with bulk.

Yeah, I'd like to look into that, if it's not too expensive. I feel like I'd have more options if I could use bulk.

Ive never used human bulk but I use synthetic bulk for streaks and it usually comes tied or rubber banded at the top and its PLENTY long enough so I dont worry about losing an inch of length, I never take the rubber band off the top and just snip the tiny bit off just as you would cut it from the weft. I made the mistake once of taking that rubber band off a bundle of hair...what a freakin mess that was! LOL

Thanks, Sherrie--that makes sense to use the rubber band as a weft of sorts. Mystery solved....
